All you have to do is go to the "Cross-Promotion Connections" area of My eBay and then use the request cross-promotions link in order to set them up. If the other seller agrees then a box promoting their products will appear on your listings and vice versa. This is a valuable way to increase your eBay sales and also generate more traffic to your eBay store.

5) Search Engines:- As I mentioned in my last article you get an actual URL with your eBay store. This URL gets listed in the eBay stores directory and search engines which means extra traffic for your eBay store. What's more eBay allows you to pick your search engine keywords so you can be listed under the categories that you feel are most appropriate to your eBay store. Getting listed in the search engines is a great way to bring in customers from outside of eBay and maximise your sales potential.

6) Store RSS Feed:- When you access the home page of an eBay store you may notice a small RSS box in the bottom left corner. If you click on this RSS box then you will be shown your store's RSS feed. Now I myself am not an expert in RSS but I do know that it is another way to promote your eBay store easily and effectively from outside of eBay. You can get some free software that submits your RSS feeds to the main RSS directories by doing a search on Google.

7) Blogging:- For those who don't know a blog is a weblog. It's basically like an online journal where you post your thoughts, comments, or whatever else you want. Blogging is an excellent way to get traffic to your eBay store. Quite a few websites offer free blogs which you can sign up for and then link back to your eBay store. Post in it regularly to gain exposure and your blog should soon become a great source of traffic.

8) Article Submission:- There are 100s of article directories out there that will you can submit your articles to, and if accepted you are allowed to have a live link back to your website or eBay store in the author resource box. This is a great way to generate traffic to your website in the long-term as not only do the search engines index your article, but people also reprint these articles on their websites complete with your author resource box (and live link back to your eBay store). The longer your article is online the more it will be reprinted and so the more traffic it will generate.

It's an often used and very successful marketing concept. The idea is that certain numbers set off alarm bells in a buyers mind and by shaving a penny or two off the price we can avoid these alarm bells. A person will wrinkle his brow and wonder if that fancy kitchen gadget is worth $20, but he will be franticly dialing the phone credit card in hand for the low low price of $19.95. What a bargain.

Believe it or not sales figures seem to support this idea. Shave a few pennies off the round dollar amount and people are more likely to buy from a TV ad, however this doesn't work in all forms of marketing.

When buying in person people appear to prefer round numbers. For instance. I have a friend who sells knockoff tennis shoes at flea markets. Don't laugh. He quit his regular job because he makes more in a weekend at the flea market than he did in a 40 hour week.

Anyway he dicovered that the magic price for knockoff tennis shoes at a flea market is $20. Any more and buyers huff and go "I might as well go to the shoe store for these prices." Any less and they question the quality of the shoes, Look them over again and agian, then walk away without buying.

I won't make a value judgement about peoples' behavior. The object is to make sales, not judge your customers right? The simple fact is for every product and service there is a magic price that a customer will readily pay with almost no selling on your part.

I won't even try to guess why, but for ebooks that price appears to be $7. You have probably by now seen the rash of $7 dollar ebooks everywhere. On marketing web sites and blogs and all over the web. For some unknown reason $5 is too low and 8$ is too high.

Does it really matter why? As marketers we don't need to question why. We find what sells and stick with it until it doesn't sell anymore.

If the public will pay $7 without flinching who am I to question them?

When I learned about article writing as a way to generate web site traffic, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, it took me several hours to write that first article for my backpacking web site, and another two hours to submit it to several article directories. I still liked the idea, but it seemed like a lot of work for the results. There had to be a better way.

Today, I often write a new article in less than thirty minutes. Then I submit it to fourteen article directories in about twenty minutes. This means six times as much output in the same time, which means six times as much traffic generated, which means six times as much money made for the same effort. It seems very worthwhile now.

First, I learned to write shorter articles. Attention spans online are short, and you want to keep the reader reading to the end - where the link to your site is. You also want the article to be used on other sites, and many webmasters won't use long articles. These are two good reasons to keep it short. Of course this means less time writing too.

I soon learned to identify the essential information quickly. In fact, articles like "Free Web Site Traffic - Seven Ways," get right to the point and are basically a list with a quick explanation of each item. They are easy to write quickly, and popular with readers.

The next important lesson I learned, was to keep a list of article directories on a file in the computer. I copy and paste an address into the browser for quick access to any of the twenty directories on my list. The addresses go straight to the submission page, or the login page. Links in your "favorites" list would work well too.

The most tedious part of the article writing process is the article submission forms. Some directories ask for descriptions, others don't. Some allow HTML, and others don't. To make this part go quickly, keep your articles organized in a Window's Notepad file or something similar. Write the title, then a two or three sentence description, and then a list of three to six keywords that the article might be found by. Then write the article.

You may find it faster to have two versions prepared, one with HTML tags for things like subtitles and italicizing. Have an author's resource box (like the one at the bottom of this page) prepared in two versions too - one with just the full URL of your web site, and the other with an active HTML link.

Now you can go quickly to the directories on your list, and copy and paste the proper elements in the proper parts of the form. If you have an auto-fill function on a Google or other toolbar, you can also enter name and e-mail address with a click.

Speed is the result, meaning more money for the time spent. To really make it efficient, you have to have a system. You can start with mine. Then look, and you'll find even more ways to systematize your article writing.

I have learned so much over the past year about creating an online presence. There is so very much to know and most people who start their own businesses really don't know how to create, maximize and leverage their online presence.

Niche Marketing

This is the first thing you learn when creating an online presence. It's about narrowing your focus. It is not possible to be all things to all people and when you try, you end up watering down your message and in essence, being nothing to no one. This probably was the hardest lesson I learned. I fought the whole niche marketing idea because I believed that my niche was choice theory and I know choice theory applied to every possible life situation. While I still believe that this is true, I need to focus my marketing efforts on a much more specific and targeted niche. While I am still refining this, I have decided to market to two basic niches. The first is small to midsize companies who are interested in creating, inspiring and leveraging diversity in the workforce and the second is managers interested in learning Empowered Leadership to increase production, improve quality and reduce employee turnover.

What is your niche? You know you have a good one if you can identify how to find them. You need to know what they read, what entertainment they gravitate toward, and what groups they belong to. It is your goal to ultimately obtain a mailing list or email list to be able to market to your niche. If you can obtain a list, then you have a well-narrowed niche.

Creating a List

This is perhaps the most important asset to an online business—the email list of potential customers and prospects. When doing business online, it is critically important to capture prospects' email opt-in addresses so you can begin to market to them. The best way to get people to give you their email address is to offer them something compelling. This is intricately tied to your niche. Find out something they are looking for—create a giveaway product in exchange for getting their email address. You can see how critical it is to have correctly identified your niche market because if you offer a list of cat owner's information on how to train their dogs, you can see how that might not entice them to provide you with their email address. It must be information they are hungry for.

The opt-in part is also important. You can't just go add people's email addresses to your mailing list. That is considered spamming. They must have the opportunity to opt-in, as well as the opportunity to remove their address from your database. Don't ruin your business before it gets started by tainting your reputation unnecessarily.

Sales Letters

Sales letters are very important. If there is one thing I'd like to outsource, it would be sales letters. They are not fun for me to do but they may be fun for you. There are several things to be considered in a sales letter. First of all, research shows that the longer a sales letter is the better. It must have a captivating title. It must be filled with information about WIIFM—What's In It For Me, meaning your readers or potential customers. This is again tied to the first point about niche marketing. Your sales letter will be most effective when you can write as if you know the mind of the reader. You must understand their pain or speak to a goal they have. How can you be specific enough if you haven't narrowed your niche? You can't.

The letter should be crafted with both the skimming reader and the detail reader in mind. This means making main points subheadings so the person who skims can get the general idea of what you are talking about just by skimming the headings. However, include sufficient detail to convince the person who is interested in lots of facts and statistics. You don't want to write your letter with only one group in mind because then you will lose out on the possibility of selling to the group you omitted.

Create products and services your niche is hungry for and then tell them why they must have your product to either solve their problem or help them become more successful.

Sales letters must have an urgent call to action. Create some type of advantage for those who act NOW. Research shows that even if a person is interested in what you are offering, if they don't act as they are reading your letter and decide to wait for another day, they never come back to it. Get them to act now by making it worth their while. You can even offer an extra incentive for the first 20 people who respond. It's up to you.

Articles

Writing articles is a tremendous way to get your name out there to the general public. I write at least two articles each month. I used to have my virtual assistant submit each one to online article banks individually. Now, for $100, I submit my article to I-Snare and they do the submitting for me. That means, the obvious things that most people know about computers, is not known by everyone. 2. Take time to read e-mails, if not interested unsubscribe
People spend good money to send you e-mail. We all know spam is a bad thing and as technology advances its days are truly numbered. The email that we subscribe to by requesting info, or by purchasing something should be welcome . Take the time to read their offer, you were interested at some point in what they had to say. If you are no longer interested, unsubscribe from their mailing list. Don't waste your time (or theirs) if you are not interested any longer.

3. Respond to e-mail and blog post as soon as possible.
People that are trying to get businesses started on the internet rely on other people for a lot of different things, if someone asks you a question, answer them quickly, they may be waiting for your reply to reply to someone else.

Although Jim and David do give you ideas on how to search for one, it is still a hazy realm within the internet. I would love for some internet guru to just list the markets that should be examined for creating eBooks.
With that one flaw noted, Mr. Edwards and Mr. Garfinkel do take you step-by-step through the process of writing an eBook that can be profitable, if you follow the steps they lay out for you in this eBook. So why would you take their advice? Jim Edwards has sold thousands of his eBooks online. Aside from writing eBooks, he has several CD-Rom products, videos, numerous audio tapes, software packages and a newsletter with thousands of subscribers. David Garfinkel is a copywriter and an award winning business journalist. He was the San Francisco Bureau chief for McGraw-Hill World News. More recently, he was the Editor in chief for "What's Online" a privately circulated Internet marketing newsletter where subscribers paid $497.00 a year.
Yanik Silver said: "Jim and David have really broken the code on what it takes to make big money with almost any eBook on the Web. If that's what you want to do I (Yanik) can only give you one piece of advice—get this resource now!"
One of the most valuable points of "eBook Secrets Exposed" is that they try to teach you how to find a hot market for your eBook and to find Joint Venture Partners that will sell your product. This is especially important if you don't have an internet subscriber list of your own. They have even included email wording suggestions to send to potential JV partners. They further explain resale rights and how to build your own list.
"eBook Secrets Exposed" stresses how important it is to choose a topic that already has a market and has other people selling to that market. This gives you two vital opportunities: 1) the Market is established and 2) you have the potential for multiple joint venture partners. And why would you need joint venture partners? Because they already have lists of people who bought their products and they just may be interested in yours. The way to do this is mapped out in the eBook.
You will probably have to read the eBook through a few times to "get" all the points that are included, but after the second or third time you'll have a great grasp on how to write an eBook.
There is a section in the book that goes over using pay per click advertising to get conversion numbers (number of visitors to your website that purchased your eBook). Conversion numbers are used to entice Joint Venture Partners. Although this is an option, the down side is the days of the inexpensive pay per click are over, so this could cost you some money.
This eBook is very well written and packed full of information. The only other question I would have or improvement I would like to see is how to get joint venture partners in different ways when you are just starting out. This is always a murky area.
Other than my comments on Niche Markets and finding JV Partners when you're new, "eBook Secrets Exposed" is a very concise tutorial on how to write an eBook and market it to a targeted audience. If you want to learn quickly on how to write an eBook and you want serious information on marketing, I would give this book an 8 out of a possible 10.

The purpose of this brief article is to solicit some traffic to my website http://MilesBooks.com. As a disabled author, of little means, I am unable to pour in the massive dollars necessary to make my thriller~mystery novel For Sale By Owners:FSBO a bestseller. Okay, so maybe it isn't bestseller material anyway? I have posted some Chapter Samples there to allow potential book buyers to taste some of the flavor and meet several of my major characters.

On my website, visitors should find some features of interest, even if they do not wish to order my novel from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or anywhere else. In addition to Free Reprint Articles, information on Multiple Sclerosis, disabilities, and links to related sites and groups are included.

And, yes, there is purchase information on my other two "Out of Print" poetry books, Beacon© and Imperfections© which I am told have become "Collector's items." Again, some of my poetry and songs are on the site to read ~ if one so chooses.

I grew up in a logging camp in Eastern Oregon, Izee. It is long gone but my memory of Izee is yet with me. I have begun to write a book about my youthful adventures, "IZEE ~ Growing up in a Logging Camp," and have included some early chapters under the website heading "Work In Progress." Other authors have barrowed from these to include in their own works. My Developing Spiritual Understanding is here also.

All through school and then maybe college or university, even as the writing became more detailed and longer. No matter how many times you have done it, writing is probably a task that many of your have continuously avoided. Now at a time when writing articles could help your job or work, facing the job at hand can be daunting.
I'm one of those strange people that enjoy writing, but even I get stumped some times and while there are a great number of people who do like writing, there are still those who would rather walk on hot coals than write an article. So for those people and the ones who like writing and would prefer to be more prepared here are some hints and methods that might help you.
Step 1: Prepare an outline or template first.
One of the best pieces of advice that I was given, many years ago, and which I still use in my consultancy is:
"Tell them what you are going to tell them. Tell them. Tell them why you told them."
Roughly translated into an outline this is:
• Pick a subject
• Introduce it
• Go into your detail
• Conclude as to why this was important.
Another template to think of - and one that gets published often is:
"Ten Reasons Why", "Top Ten Ideas", "Seven Solutions"
Well you get the idea.
Step 2: Pick your topic
Pick something you know about and start jotting down ideas. I find it easy to pick a temporary title sometimes other times I work on the subject and then the title just comes along on it's on.
The Top Ten is always the easiest and as it is a popular one with ezine publishers maybe you should make this your first one.
Maybe it is something for dog lovers so you could have:
• Top 10 best ways to make sure your dog gets its walk.
• Top 10 ways to meet other dog walkers
• Top 10 best ways to raise pups
Well you get the idea.
Step 3: Headings and Summaries
The first sentence for your article, should immediately grab the attention of your reader and introduce the subject of your article.
Many article sites ask for a summary of the article as well. The summary is used in two places:
• On the article site as a part of the search process
• On the search engine entry that links to where the article is on the article site
So you can see that this is the place to pique the imagination of the potential reader as well as get you well placed in the search engines.
Step 4: Add the Content
You should now be in full writing mode and able to jot down the rest of the article, remembering the conclusion. Read it through several times - but don't expect perfection.
The more interesting the article is, the more people will read and remember it.
The best ezine articles are between 300 and 750 words long. I have written longer articles of 1,000 to 1,250 words, and had them featured on web sites, but long articles don't fare well in ezines. So pick your market and try to get the right length for your choice of publication.
Step 5: The Resource Box
This is the reason for writing. The resource box is the 4 -7 lines that sits on the end of the article. The format should be as:
• Your Copyrights
• 2-4 lines about your expertise. You can usually include up to 3 hyperlinks. Affiliate links are generally not allowed - so give your web site address.
• The terms of using your article - the expression "You may print this article without charge, provided this resource box remains intact."
Now that is it.

Adwords Killer is another very popular Adwords guide that hit the market recently. This is my unbiased and critical Adwords Killer Review that will tell you exactly what you will find inside - and what you won't.

Other Adwords books that I had previously bought include Google Cash, Adwords Miracle, Affiliate Project X, Day job killer, Adwordelite and The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords by Perry Marshall. If you add up the price for all of them you know I spent a lot of money.

So my million dollar question really is: Does Adwords Killer offer any new tricks or strategies that you haven't seen yet in any other guides or is it just the usual stuff (Split-testing ads, Tight ad-grouping etc.)?

Adwords Killer has 81 pages and it does cover some of the basics, but the major part of the guide consists of new and innovative tactics that cannot be found in other books. Maybe that's because the other authors preferred to keep those tricks for themselves – maybe it is because they were not aware of them. I don't know.

So what does Adwords Killer cover what other Adwords Guides don't?

Negative Keywords

This is one of the highlights of the book. Everybody tells you to include the negative keyword –free in your ads. Adwords Killer goes far beyond that. The author gives you a comprehensive list of 47 negative keywords that have statistically proven to make campaigns unprofitable. Most of them I had never considered. But once you think about it – it seems so obvious. "We were told over a public address system to head to the three restrooms, which are made of reinforced concrete masonry and serve as storm shelters. When we got to the shelters, we could see steel beams and machinery flying in the air," recalled Dave McClallen, a Parsons employee.

Woodford County Emergency Services & Disaster Agency volunteer Dustin Oltman said reports indicated that the storm inflicted the most damage on the half-mile area in Roanoke, Ill., where Parsons Manufacturing Co. is located.

Bob Parsons, owner of Parsons Manufacturing, which makes parts for the construction and mining industries, didn't want to take any chances when constructing his operation after a near miss of his first business by a tornado in 1972. When he built an expanded business across the street, he included reinforced concrete masonry storm shelters inside. He said that he never could have guessed that decision would save 150 lives 30 years later.

"The storm shelters were so important. They saved all of our lives," said Craig Joraanstad, the company's human resources manager. "The most important thing we hope happens out of this is that more businesses take storm shelters seriously. Concrete masonry protects lives and property ... 150 people are alive today thanks to those concrete masonry storm shelters."

The inherent strength of reinforced concrete masonry makes it an excellent choice to withstand wind-borne debris - the largest threat to occupants in these storms, said Dennis Graber, an engineer on the staff of the National Concrete Masonry Association in Herndon, Va.

"Researchers at the Wind Science and Engineering Research Center at Texas Tech University demonstrated this fact at a wind projectile test in September 2003," Graber said. "In that test, solid grouted 8- and 6-inch reinforced concrete masonry wall panels withstood the standardized FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Agency] test of 15-pound, 2 by 4 projectiles shot at 100 mph, which is representative of debris in a 250-mph tornado."
